Our Students Honoured at the 2011 CMA Awards Gala

The Quebec Order of Certified Management Accountants (CMA) awarded its Forget-Me-Not trophy for student activity of the year to the 2011 CMA student congress organized by HEC Montréal students. Shana Poirier (MSc, Controllership), President of the organizing committee, along with the other committee members, Alaa Benhammida (MSc, Controllership), Marie-Laurence Boivin (BBA, Marketing specialization), Majda Cheddadi (Certificate in Business Management), Ngoc Bich Lee (MSc, Controllership), Eliane Sheedy (BBA, mixed option in Marketing and Accounting) and Guillaume Tremblay (MSc, Controllership), received their trophy on June 4 at the 2011 CMA awards gala held at the Domaine Château-Bromont.

All in all, ten awards were handed out in three categories. The trophy won by our students is a tribute to an activity held during the year that either made a significant contribution to the reputation of the CMA designation among students, encouraged networking among students and employers, or achieved the best results in terms of student recruitment. The goal of the 2011 CMA student congress was to promote the CMA designation and demystify the role of CMAs in businesses. The event was held at the School and the Delta Montréal hotel from March 11 to 13, attracting 170 students from 11 university campuses across Quebec.
