Since last Sunday and until Friday, March 18, a number of HEC Montréal students have been going homeless as part of the 5 days for the homeless campaign. The goal is to make people aware of what life is like for the homeless and to raise funds for the partner organization, Dans la Rue, which helps homeless youths in Montreal.
The students, based outside the Louis-Colin entrance to the main pavilion, will sacrifice comforts such as showers and beds, and will be living only on donated food. Despite these difficult conditions, the brave participants will still have to attend classes and meet any extra-curricular obligations.
The 5 days for the homeless campaign is organized by the Association des Étudiants de HEC Montréal (AEHEC), which invites everyone to support the cause by making donations online (www.5days.ca) or directly to the participants themselves.
