Over $1.6 million in scholarships for 42 MSc, PhD and postdoctoral students and alumni

Once again this year, the School’s students and alumni did very well in the competitions held by granting agencies for 2010-2011. Overall, 39 students in HEC Montréal MSc and PhD programs and 3 HEC Montréal alumni pursuing postgraduate and postdoctoral studies in other parts of the world will share over $1.6 million in funding. They were all selected by independent juries of expert researchers, based on the exceptional quality of their university work focusing on social, economic and cultural issues. The granting agencies* are the SSHRC, NSERC, FQRSC, FQRNT and IFM2.

Postgraduate scholarships

This year 18 PhD in Administration students received postgraduate scholarships worth from $20,000 to $35,000 per year, for a period of up to three years, for a total of $1,105,333.

HEC Montréal alumni also receive funding

Three School alumni pursuing postdoctoral and graduate studies at other universities elsewhere in Canada or abroad were awarded funding from granting agencies on the strength of their academic records while they were at HEC Montréal.

Postdoctoral scholarship

One PhD graduate received two scholarship, both for two years, for a total of $140,000.

Graduate scholarships

Two BBA graduates were awarded $17,500 scholarships, for a total of $35,000.
