Siyang Wu Wins One of Three Women in Finance Scholarships from National Bank Financial Group

Siyang WuSiyang Wu, holder of an MSc in Administration (Financial Engineering) from HEC Montréal and currently enrolled in the PhD in Administration (Operational Research), is one of three students selected from over one hundred candidates by a jury of representatives from capital markets. The cross-Canada Women in Finance Scholarships program is intended to support graduate studies in finance. The three winners will share $20,000 in all, and each will be paired with an experienced manager in the Financial Markets segment of National Bank Financial Group, who will advise them during their studies.

Siyang Wu, originally from China and a permanent resident since a few months ago, is studying toward her PhD under the direction of Associate Professor Michel Denault, in the Department of Management Sciences. Siyang is particularly interested in energy and CO2 related issues. She recently won a substantial research fellowship from IFM2.

These scholarships are one way for National Bank Financial Group to express its “commitment to integrating and promoting women at every level of the organization.”. In fact, 73% of the Group’s employees are women.
