Eminent Researchers Discuss Strategy at HEC Montréal

August 5, 2010

This summer, HEC Montréal is taking advantage of the Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management and the presence in Montreal of many leading researchers in the field of management from August 6 to 10 to organize a workshop at the School on the practice of strategy.

On the day before the annual meeting, the HEC Montréal Strategy as Practice Study Group (GéPS) will be offering a workshop entitled Talk, Text and Tools in the Practice of Strategy for management researchers. This will be the first international workshop of its kind in North America. “Some 80 researchers and professors will come together to discuss concrete examples of organizational strategic practices, analyze strategic plans adopted by businesses and examine the tools and methods used by these organizations in devising their strategies,” explains Hélène Giroux, a Logistics and Operations Management professor who is one of the workshop organizers.

The Strategy as Practice Study Group builds on the expertise and interests of researchers from HEC Montréal and other universities, with the mission of encouraging collaborative research on the general theme of “Strategy as Practice.”
