Response to your application for a study permit
The study permit retrieval letter or e-mail confirmation (that you must print before leaving for Canada) is not your official study permit.
You must present this letter or e-mail confirmation to an immigration officer at your point of entry into Canada. On presentation to the immigration officer of this letter and the documents that are required for the permit application, you will be given your study permit.
Tips for submitting a successful study permit application
- The study permit must cover the entire duration of your studies. It can be renewed if necessary.
- The study permit will cease to be valid once your CAQ or passport expires.
- The specific steps you will have to follow depend on your country of residence, which is not necessarily the country for which you have citizenship.
