Donation of a New Life Insurance Policy

A cost-effective solution for making a sizeable gift to the Foundation.

Who is this type of giving for?

Donors in good health aged 25 to 65 who are interested in making a large donation ($50,000+) but who do not have the required liquidity.

Donor benefits

  • Substantial future gift at a low cost.
  • Tax receipt for yearly premiums paid.
  • Acknowledgement during the donor’s lifetime.

Testimonials

« Instead of making a fixed donation directly to the School every year, I took out a life insurance policy for my wife and me. When we’re both gone, the principal will be paid to the HEC Montréal Foundation to establish a family fund. By adopting this strategy, I was able to give five times more than what I was originally considering – and the benefits will trickle down to future generations. »

Additional information

The gift of a new insurance policy is an attractive, easy-to-manage solution that will let you make a sizeable donation to the HEC Montréal Foundation over a predetermined amount of time, based on the annual amount set aside in your budget, and to allocate it to an initiative that is important to you.

This strategy is also a very interesting and cost-effective opportunity for members of the same family who wish to create a family fund to ensure their values get passed down to future generations.

Life insurance to protect your loved ones

Why not use the tax savings generated from a gift of this nature to take out another life insurance policy? That way, you’ll leave your heirs with an amount that is close to or even greater than the donation made to the HEC Montréal Foundation. It’s a beneficial way of giving back to your alma mater while still looking after your loved ones.
