Jacques Nantel has been with HEC Montréal since 1981 and is currently a marketing professor emeritus. He is one of the most sought-after retail industry specialists in Canada and Europe and sits on a number of boards. He has written extensively on the impact of technology on conventional retail – in fact, an article he published in the Journal of Retailing is one of the top 10 most cited articles on this topic. In October 2014, he received the Esdras Minville Award for his outstanding contribution to raising HEC Montréal’s profile. Among the boards of directors and advisory committees he serves on in the retail sector are the Conseil québécois du commerce de detail (CQCD), Souris Mini, La Vie en Rose, Epiderma and Adviso.
