Franck Barès is an associate professor (since June 2011) and head of HEC Montréal’s Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovation (since February 2015). His research interests lie primarily in support for entrepreneurs and business model creation, and his PhD thesis focused on academic spin-offs and business support systems. He was the department chair of the strategy and entrepreneurship department of ICN Business School from January 2007 to June 2011 and the implementation officer in charge of research transfer for the European centre for economic and management research (CEREFIGE) from November 2009 to June 2011.
He is also the academic supervisor for graduate studies in entrepreneurship and innovation and co-director of the international entrepreneurial immersion program. He serves on the boards of the Académie de l’Entrepreneuriat et de l’Innovation (AEI) and the Conseil Africain de l’Entrepreneuriat et de l’Innovation (CAEI).
