Prior to his current appointment, Claude Séguin was the Senior Vice President, Corporate Development and Strategic Investments, at CGI Group Inc, where he was responsible for all merger and acquisition activities and strategic operations. Before joining CGI in 2003, he was the President of CDP Capital – Private Equity. From 1992 to 2000, he served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Teleglobe and, from 1987 to 1992, as Deputy Minister of Finance for the Government of Quebec. In the latter capacity, he oversaw budgetary policy, taxation and economic matters, as well as financing and treasury operations. For the four years before that, he was the Assistant Deputy Minister in charge of fiscal policy and government corporations. He was also previously employed by the Conseil du trésor du Québec.
He currently chairs the board of Finance Montréal. Other directorships include HEC Montréal, Centraide of Greater Montreal Foundation and EXFO. He did his undergraduate studies at HEC Montréal and earned a master’s and PhD in public administration from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University in New York. He is also a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.
