Authorized calculators

Be prepared… before exam time!
Don’t wait until the night before your exam to buy one of the recommended calculators or get yours approved.

Purchase a calculator that meets HEC Montréal regulations. If the use of a calculator is permitted for a given exam, we recommend the following models (available at the HEC Montréal COOP):

• Texas Instruments BA II PLUS* — model with financial functions
• Sharp EL-240SB — basic model

* This model must carry a sticker that you can obtain from the information counter at the Office of the Registrar.

Do you have another model of calculator?

Only non-programmable calculators with non-alphanumeric keypads can be approved. You must have your calculator approved at the information counter in the Office of the Registrar. A sticker will be affixed to your calculator if has been approved.

Refer to the list of calculators approved by HEC Montréal (PDF format – 130 KB). If your calculator is listed, simply go to the information counter at the Office of the Registrar at the beginning of the term to obtain your approval sticker.
