Financing of Student Activities

Associations and interest groups recognized by HEC Montréal can make a financing request to the School in order to help them carry out their projects and activities. Thanks to Alumni HEC Montréal, which maintains privileged ties with HEC Montréal graduates and corporations, and to the "Fonds Leadership", the School can contribute financially towards the execution of student projects and activities.

ORGANIZATION of an academic competition 

Criteria of eligibility:

  • Competitions must (primarily) be of an academic nature, or the academic component should occupy a prominent place in the competition. This criterion also includes the “creditable” aspect of proposals – whether the School will recognize it and give credit for it;
  • Proposals must be for competitions taking place in one of the School’s official languages: French, English or Spanish;
  • Proposals must have at least one component related to business administration or to another program offered by the School;
  • Specific for the MBA competitions: Any financing application for an academic competition must be supported and recommended by the MBA’s Program Management and the coordinator of the academic competitions, Mr. René Gendreau;
  • Specific for all other programs competitions: The competition must be declared with the coordinator of the academic competitions, Mr. René Gendreau.

 

Criteria of selection:

  • Quality of the organization;
  • Added value to HEC Montréal’s community;
  • Significant contribution to the reputation of the School;
  • Past performances and sustainability of the event;
  • Measures to make the activity in line with sustainable development mission of the School;
  • Visibility plan for Alumni HEC Montréal and the School.

  • Specific for all other programs competitions: The competition must be declared with the coordinator of the academic competitions, Mr. René Gendreau.

 

 Criteria of selection:

  • Scale of the competition;
  • Predominance of the academic componant;
  • Rigor of the selection process of participants and quality of supervision and coaching;
  • Financial aspect;
  • Visibility plan for Alumni HEC Montréal and the School.

 

IMPORTANT NOTE: Any student participating in an international academic competition or that requires airline transportation, must pay $300 per competition.

 

ACTIVITY UNRELATED to an academic competition

Criteria of eligibility:

  • Specific for the AEMBA: Any financing application for an activity must be supported and recommended by the MBA’s Program Management.

 

Criteria of selection:

  • Quality of the organization;
  • Added value to HEC Montréal’s community;
  • Significant contribution to the reputation of the School;
  • Past performances and sustainability of the event;
  • Measures to make the activity in line with sustainable development mission of the School;
  • Visibility plan for Alumni HEC Montréal and the School.
