Register for this three-hour seminar as of your first semester. The objective is to present available resources and monitoring tools to ensure a steady progress. This is a non-credit seminar.
Prior to completing 21 courses crédits, register for the research workshop indicated in your program structure.
During the the research workshop, you will need to:
1. Submit your thesis topic
Prior to completing 21 courses credits, submit your thesis topic on HEC en ligne (Academics/Academics/My Thesis portal) for approval by your research director.
Before submitting your thesis, you must obtain the authorization of the M.Sc. Program Academic Office. The approval is automatic for the specializations in English.
Complete and submit the following three forms to the M.Sc. Program Academic Office:
2. Submit your study plan
Before the end of the term, submit your study plan according to the instructions given in ZoneCours.
Processing and evaluating your thesis, as well as granting a degree can take up to 12 weeks. Please take this into consideration if you need to renew a student visa, submit a post-diploma permit request or confirm your participation to the graduation ceremony.
Make sure that you are registered for the term during which you plan to submit your thesis and that you have successfully completed the research workshop.
If your file is inactive and you have not exceeded the maximum five-year deadline, you must submit the Short admission form when submitting your thesis. Tuition fees will be charged for the term during which you’ll submit your thesis. If, however, you have exceeded the maximum time allowed to complete your program, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org

**Foreign students completing their program at the summer term must submit their thesis before August 15th.
When submitting your thesis, please make sure you bring all the following documents fully completed. Note that a few weeks delay is necessary to process each of the required forms. Incomplete files will not be analyzed for graduation.
Depending on the evaluation, the jury might request some corrections:

|Major corrections||Before the deadline set by the jury, submit your corrected thesis according to the initial submission procedure (step 3).
You will be re-enrolled in the thesis-writing activity until you submit your final version. Consequently, new tuition fees will apply.
N.B.: You must submit the final version in order to graduate.
The electronic copy (PDF format) is considered to be the final and original thesis copy. In the event of a discrepancy between the electronic and paper copies, the PDF document will be considered as the original.
The thesis will be kept and preserved in the Archives of HEC Montréal.
