Guide for newly admitted students
To simplify your return to school at HEC Montréal, just follow these steps.
As soon as you are admitted to your program:
Check your HEC Montréal e-mail account, since all communications concerning your studies at HEC Montréal will be sent only to this address.
Consult your HEC En Ligne profile and get used to this new environment.
Attend the activities specially designed for newly admitted Master’s program students (you will receive invitations by e-mail):
To complete the admission process, you must submit the official transcripts (bearing the indication “Program completed”, “Degree awarded”, or the equivalent) for your university studies as mentioned in your Conditional Admission Offer Letter:
You must submit these documents no later than the deadline written in your admission letter which can be retrieved by logging in to your HEC en ligne account.
MSc students must respect all the conditions for continuation of the program. Otherwise you may be expelled from the program.
Other conditions apply. Please consult the academic regulations and the official description of the MSc in Administration program.
It is up to students to familiarize themselves with the structure of their program of studies and select the appropriate courses.
To ensure you select the appropriate courses, attend the introductory session for newly admitted students and meet your academic advisor. Make sure you plan your studies before your initial registration.
When you select your courses, you must make sure that you have met all the prerequisites.
Even if you are admitted conditionally, you must still register using HEC en ligne.
Graduate students may not choose more course credits than the number required by the structure of the program to which they have been admitted.
Checking and correcting your personal information
You must check your emergency contact and personal data in HEC en ligne and modify them, as needed.
If your contact information (mailing address, e-mail address or phone number) has changed since you were admitted to HEC Montréal, it is important to update it promptly. Make any necessary changes online through HEC en ligne.
Since the Fall 2000 semester, the ministère de l'Éducation, de l'Enseignement supérieur et de la Recherche (MEESR) has obliged Quebec universities to obtain a permanent code assigned and validated by the Ministry for each registered student.
The “permanent code” is a code that the province’s ministry of education, the MEESR, uses to identify individual students. It consists of four letters followed by eight digits.
If the name appearing in the MEESR file differs from the one on record at HEC Montréal, we are required to modify it to bring it in line with the data held by the MEESR.
If, while consulting your record on HEC en ligne, you notice that your name has been changed and that you wish to modify it, you will need to provide the following documents:
Failing this, your name will remain as it is currently in HEC en ligne.
