Classes
Students are presumed to attend classes. The professor may deny access to class if the student does not attend the first class. The director of the program may deny student access to a class if the student missed two or more classes.
The student concerned will not be authorized to return to class unless he or she justifies his or her absence to the satisfaction of the director of the program. The student must explain his or her absence in writing and remit the letter together with supporting documents to the MBA administrative office.
Examinations
Students must attend examinations. Students who do not attend an examination must have a valid reason and must, within five days following the date of the examination, justify their absence. Valid reasons refer to a reason independent of the student's will, such as an act of God or and illness substantiated by a medical certificate. A student who misses an exam must complete the form entitled Notice of absence from an examination.
Please refer to the academic calendar to see the examination dates.

Information session for students in the intensive program, room to be determined, Thursday, August 15, 4 pm to 4:45 pm
The program director, Michael Wybo, will introduce the program, its requirements, and the main activities that will take place during the year. This information session is for the students in the intensive program only. Attendance is mandatory.
The preparatory session
The intensive week is preceded by a preparatory session scheduled on Thursday, August 15, from 5 pm to 6:30 pm. Attendance is mandatory.
The intensive week
The intensive week will be from Monday August 19 to Friday August 23 from 8:30 am to 10:30 pm during which you will follow the first course of the program – 51-401-02A Management simulation.
Why does class extend up to 10:30 p.m.?
The three-hour class is followed by team discussions that often extend into the evening because important decisions must be made and consensus among the team members must be reached before you leave class. Consequently, it is impossible to predict when you will end the day.
The class schedule
The schedule for each day will be available on HEC en ligne as of July 8 at 9 am.
Teaching materials used
During this intensive week, you will be using the Globstrat manual. The manual will be sent to you by e-mail one week before the beginning of classes. You must have read the manual before the start of the preparatory session.
Students pay a $50 simulation fee for the manual at the COOP HEC Montréal during the first class.
Attendance is compulsory for the intensive week
This course is compulsory. If you are unable to attend class, you will not be authorized to continue in the program. You will be asked to postpone admission until the following year. It is important to note that the deferral is not automatically granted.
