    Viewing your final exam

+  When can I view my final exam?

To find out when you can view your exam, refer to the dates listed in the academic calendar.

+  Do I need an appointment?

Yes, you must make an appointment through HEC en ligne, keeping the following in mind:

  • Your grade must be available in HEC en ligne.
  • Your request will take up to two (2) business days to process.

If you are in the MBA program:

  • You will receive an e-mail message informing you of the exam viewing dates, times and rooms, as well as the procedures.

+  What should I do if my course does not appear in the appointment window?

Check that:

  • You took your final exam on HEC Montréal premises.
  • Your grade is available in HEC en ligne.
  • Your exam booklet is available at the Office of the Registrar.

 If you wrote:

+  Will I receive a confirmation once I’ve made an appointment?

No, you must simply arrive at the appointed time.

+  What should I do if I cannot make it to my appointment?

You must cancel your appointment through HEC en ligne at least 48 hours beforehand.

+  Which items do I need to produce when going to view my exam?

You must present one piece of valid photo ID.

Note that computers and mobile devices are prohibited.

+  Where do I have to go to view my exam?

All the information you require is presented on the appointment screen.

+  If I'm on an exchange during the viewing period, can I view my exam when I get back ?

Yes. Make an appointment by sending an e-mail message to registraire.examen@hec.ca, remembering to specify that you will be on an international exchange during the usual exam viewing period.

+  Can I have someone else go view my exam on my behalf?

No, you may not have someone else represent you.

+  Can I extend the time allotted for exam viewing?

No, the maximum duration is 10 minutes. However, you may make another appointment for the same course.

+  It is possible, during the exam viewing period, to view the correction and scoring keys?

No, this information may not be obtained during the exam viewing period. However, you are free to contact your teacher or the teacher’s secretary, who may or may not make them available to you.


   Request a revision

+  Even if I accept my grade, is it possible to get details from my professor?

Contact your professor or your professor’s secretary directly for that information.

+  What should I do if I disagree with the correction?

You may submit a revision request by completing the «Revision of the result of a final examination» form available at the Information Counter, at the place where we do the review or online
Remember to verify the revision deadline specified in the academic calendar.

Once it is completed, submit the form:

  • At the Information Counter
  • or in the mail box located on the garden level of the Côte-Sainte-Catherine Building across from the IBM Amphitheatre.

+  What should I do if I find an error in the calculation of the points?

You may submit a revision request by completing the «Revision of the result of a final examination» form available at the Information Counter, at the place where we do the review or online
Remember to verify the revision deadline specified in the academic calendar.

Once it is completed, submit the form:

  • At the Information Counter
  • or in the mail box located on the garden level of the Côte-Sainte-Catherine Building across from the IBM Amphitheatre.

+  When will I receive a response to my exam revision request?

Usually within 15 business days of the revision request deadline.

Note that:

  • Your grade may remain the same, be raised or be lowered.
  • A $20 fee will be billed to you if your final exam grade remains the same.

+  Is it possible to contest the outcome of a revision?

Is it possible to contest the outcome of a revision?
Yes, by submitting a request for an exceptional revision.


To do so:

Once it is completed, submit the form:

  • At the Information Counter
  • or in the mail box located on the garden level of the Côte-Sainte-Catherine Building across from the IBM Amphitheatre.

For further details, refer to the point 11.2 of the regulations.

+  What are the fees to request a revision of marks?

A $20 fees is charged if the result of the final examination remains unchanged.
