Deferred exam

When absence from a final examination has been approved by your program’s administrative office, you must rewrite the exam during the next term’s final exam period in which the course will be given.

Registration

The Administrative Office of your program will register you for the deferred exam. Consult HEC en ligne to know :

  • the date and time of your exam in the DF section.
  • the location of your exam (to avoid problems receiving your grades).

It is the student's responsibility to show up to the exam on the scheduled date without further reminder.

Failing to attend the deferred exam will result in a grade of zero on the exam.

Important: A final exams can only be deferred once.

Preparing for exam

Consult the course syllabus for the semester during which the deferred exam takes place in ZoneCours.

Make sure to have at hand all necessary documents (electronic and paper) needed for your exam.

Contact the course coordinator or the department to verify the rules and regulations in effect.

Results

The grade you received in the course will appear in HEC en ligne under the term during which the initial course took place.

A note of “IN” (incomplete) will appear temporarily in your student record until the final grade is received.

Reviewing your corrected exam

Book an appointment during the exam review period specified in the academic calendar, by sending an email to orgsco@hec.ca.

The date, time and location for the final exam review will be sent to you by email.
