Mercury Profile of Excellence

Over the past few years, total quality, excellence, performance and competition have all become a part of our everyday vocabulary. In fact, it’s clear that for individuals to move forward in today’s society and for society to progress in the world, the world expects more in terms of quantity and quality.

It is with this in mind that the Mercury Profile of Excellence was created. The profile is open to students ready to give it the extra effort and go above and beyond what is usually expected of B.B.A. students, allowing them to come away with a little bit more than typical graduates of an undergraduate management program. With HEC Montréal’s attestation in hand, these students can show potential employers that they have more to offer.

In concrete terms, HEC Montréal offers any student open to the challenge an opportunity to follow an enrichment program built on a set of specific accomplishments; each is highly relevant to the job market and demands a high level of independence on the part of the student.

Once students have met the requirements of the Mercury Profile of Excellence, HEC Montréal will note their specific accomplishments on their academic transcript and provide a letter to accompany it. The letter describes to potential employers the distinctive nature of the training acquired through the Mercury Profile of Excellence.

In addition to the above, the student will receive a diploma similar to the B.B.A. diploma, attesting to the Mercury distinction. A scholarship program was created specifically for Mercure candidates, as was a program to raise awareness of the Mercure program among employers.

Derived from Roman mythology, where Mercury was the god of trade, the name was chosen because it symbolizes excellence in business, as recognized through the Chamber of Commerce’s Mercuriades awards.
